TRIPLE WALL CORRUGATED CARTONS

Triple wall corrugated boxes, sometimes referred to as extra heavy duty cartons, are made from the most durable board, with 4 liners and 3 layers of fluting, it offers maximum corrugated cardboard protection and durability. Triple wall board is sturdy enough to be used to ship chemicals, or used as an alternative to wooden crates and weighs much less.

The perfect box is just slightly bigger than the item being shipped, just enough to accommodate some protective material to prevent your product from getting damaged during storage or transportation. Keep in mind it is best to use the smallest size box possible to keep shipping costs to a minimum.

What is the Most Common Triple Wall Carton Material?

The most common triple wall material is 80ECT ACC flute, this board can be used to create many different box styles, generally being used for larger and heavier parts. These boxes are very durable offering excellent stack and burst strength, cartons using this material can be looked at as a potential replacement for wooden crates.

Combined A and C flutes are the most commonly used flutes in triple wall cartons. For example A/A/A or A/C/C. A flute is the thickest flute, this option offers the greatest rigidity for stacking. C flute is the most popular choice for packaging a shipment. 

Edge crush test describes the weight capacity the corrugated cardboard can safely withstand during stacking and palletization without deforming. Triple wall cartons are available in 67ECT and 80ECT.
